Udupi Mar 11, 2016: Burglars gained entry by breaking the lock of the front door and got in to Shree Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir at Thotdamane, Kodavoor and decamped with valuable and cash worth Rs.8 lac on Friday March 11.
The thieves able to loot silver footwear, silver umbrella, Silver throne and ornaments and also broke cash boxes. Temple has not installed with CCTV as investigation seems to be even more tougher. Nearly four or five people are suspected to be involved in the crime.
Temple committee Diwakar Shetty was unaware of the suspicious even if he stayed close by. This was not the first instance as theft had occurred at the same temple two years ago.
Udupi Circle Inspector Srikanth Nayak, Malpe SI Ravikumar and other police personnel arrived at the spot and investigated.
Malpe Police have registered the case and investigation is in process.
