Udupi, Nov 30, 2016: A greviously injured bull that had been lying in a 60-feet deep ravine at Kukkikatte, Udupi since the last five days was finally rescued by people with the help of a crane. The bull had fallen into the ravine after being hit by a train and had been lying there for the last five days.
The rail authorites had passed on the information of the accident to a few local auto drivers. However no one had come forward to rescue the animal.
When local social worker Vishu Shetty finally came to know of the incident through an auto driver he rushed to the spot along with a veterinary doctor.
They gave some water to the bull and lifted it from the ravine with the help of local people and a crane after an effort of seven hours.
Later the bull was given medical treatment and has been sent to Goshala at Kodavoor.
