Mangaluru, Jun 05, 2018 : Brigadier DM Poorvimath, VSM, DDG, Karnataka & Goa, Bengaluru visited St Aloysius College (Autonomous) on June 05, Tuesday Col.Anil Nautiyal, Group Commander of NCC Group HQ, Mangaluru and Lt. Col. Gracian Sequiera, Adm Officer, 18 KarBn, NCC were also present during the visit.

St Aloysius College is having all the three wings of NCC- Army Wing, Naval Wing and Air Wing. NCC plays a significant role in Personality Development. Discipline learnt during student life molds one’s personality. National Cadet Corps (NCC) which works with the motto, “Unity & Discipline” has been doing great service to the youth of this nation.


He expressed his appreciation towards the various activities organized by the NCC Unit of the College. He was also briefed about the future plans and activities of the unit during this visit.

The NCC always aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service among young citizens. It aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life. The NCC also provides an environment in motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

Principal, St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Fr. Praveen Martis S.J. welcomed and introduced Brigadier DM Poorvimath to the gathering, and then visited the the renowned “St Aloysius College Chapel”. Brigadier DM Poorvimath expressed his gratitude to the college for the finest infrastructure for the NCC cadet to train and improve themselves.
