Brahmarakootlu Toll Plaza vandalised by protestors

Bantwal, April 26, 2014 : Utter chaos prevailed at the Brahmarakootlu Toll Plaza on April 26, Saturday when a group of protestors went on rampage and damaged the toll booths.

 

 

 

If the Nagarika Hitharakshana Samithi had on April 25, Friday staged a massive protest, on Saturday, the Bhajrangdal had first staged a protest which even disrupted traffic for some time.

It is said, later on another group began a protest when things went out of control. According to some eyewitnesses, trouble began when a toll gate staff snatched the key of a car driver at the toll booth.

Meanwhile, there is information that during the Bhajrangdal protest, the agitators even  used offensive language against Bantwal DySP Rashmi Paraddi who was trying to control the situation.

It may be mentioned here that the Brahmarakootlu Toll Plaza has been in the eye of the storm since some time. First it were the protests by the toll plaza staff against repeated assaults and then by various organisations alleging high handedness by the Toll Plaza staff.

It is learnt, collection of toll has been suspended as of now as the toll plaza has been completely damaged.
