Mulki, Apr 26, 2015: Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty, the former chairman of Vijaya Bank was a dynamic personality who had the determination to make good use of every opportunity that came his way, said Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala.
He was speaking after inaugurating the birth centenary celebrations of Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty at Mulki on April 25, Saturday. Continuing, Dr Heggade said late Shetty’s hard works and his ability to take speedy decisions helped him achieve success..He also recalled his service in the Vijaya Bank Board of Directors and said he was greatly influenced by Shetty’s style of administration. “It inspired me to initiate self-employment schemes which today has helped lakhs of people,” Dr Heggade further added.
Dr. N. Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University said Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty during his life time had wiped the tears of thousands of people through his dedicated service. “It is not enough if we just raise a building in his memory. We need to take up more projects that can wipe the tears of many more, Vinay Hegde opined.
Vinay Kumar Sorake, Udupi District in-charge Minister, K Abhayachandra Jain, Minister for Youth Services, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, KR Shenoy, Executive Director of Vijaya Bank and others spoke on the occasion.
Dr D Veerendra Heggade and veteran entrepreneur RN Shety were felicitated at the function.
In his address, RN Shetty announced a donation of Rs 1.5 core towards the building which is proposed in memory of Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty. KR Shenoy, Vijaya Bank Executive Director announced a contribution of Rs 20 lakh for the cause on behalf of the Bank.
