Bike stunt claims engineering student’s life; another critical

Mangaluru, Feb 24, 2015:  An engineering student lost his life, while another student sustained critical injuries, after a bike stunt which they attempted  at Tannirbavi went wrong.

 

 

The deceased youth is Vaibhav Sainath Shetty (20) from Chilimbi. He was a second year civil engineering student at Sahyadri College. The injured is  Prateek, a resident of Hemmady in Kundapur, a BBM student of SDM College. If Vaibhav was pillion riding, Prateek was riding the bike. Both were not wearing helmets.

The mishap occurred when the duo who were heading towards the main road from the beach road, resorted to a stunt by raising their hands in the air. Very soon they lost control over the bike and both fell on the road.

Vaibhav who sustained serious head injuries, died on the spot. Prateek is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

A case has been registered by Suratkal traffic police.
