Udupi, July 28,2017 : It has been a year since Udupi based businessman and NRI entrepreneur Bhasker Shetty was killed allegedly by his wife and son with the help of a self-proclaimed astrologer.
Even as all the three are cooling their heels behind bars with no reprieve from the courts which have denied them bail, the CID which is investigating the case has not made much headway. It has also not filed additional charge sheet in the case.
When the first charge sheet was filed, officials had said that they had to still gather information. Now, they are saying that they are awaiting some reports including the DNA report.
All the three main accused Rajeshwari , her son Navaneeth and priest Niranjan Bhat are presently lodged in the Mangaluru sub-jail. As Rajeshwari’s bail plea was rejected by the District Sessions Court as well as the State High Court, she has now reportedly moved the Supreme Court seeking bail.
Meanwhile, Navaneeth’s bail plea was rejected by the District Court while Niranjan’s bail plea has been recently rejected by the High Court.
As the blood samples in the evidences found during investigation has matched with that of Shetty’s mother and brothers, the family had performed the last rites and has even procured a death certificate which mentions that Bhasker Shetty had died on July 28, 2016 at Nandalike.
