Bhasker Shetty murder case : Accused priest Niranjan attempts suicide inside Manipal station

Udupi, Aug 9,2016 : Priest and astrologer Niranjan Bhat, an accused in the sensational murder case of Udupi’s hotelier and NRI entrepreneur Bhasker Shetty who has been arrested by the police, has reportedly tried to end his life inside the Manipal police station by swallowing his diamond ring.

niranjan Bhasker Shetty case The police have immediately admitted him to the Ajjarkad Government Hospital. Sources said his condition was stable.

Niranjan is facing charges of abetting Bhasker Shetty’s wife Rajeshwari and son Navaneeth in the murder of Bhasker by burning the body in the Yajna Kunda and then disposing the ashes into a stream at Nandalike.

It is also said that he had close relationship with the deceased Bhasker Shetty’s wife and had even assisted in plotting the murder.

Police had taken him to the crime scene at Nandalike on August 8, Monday as part of the investigation
