Bhajrangdal leader threatens to file defamation suit against Naveen Soorinje

Udupi, July 4, 2013 : Ganesh Kumar, Convenor of Shedimane unit of Bhajrangdal in Kundapur has said that he would be lodging a defamation suit against journalist Naveen Soorinje and a web news portal for referring to him as the elder brother of Manipal gang rape prime accused Yogish.

defamation 1 Speaking to reporters here, Ganesh Kumar said he had participated in the protest staged demanding arrest of the gang rape accused. “But, journalist Naveen Soorinje, in order to tarnish my image and with malafied intentions had circled my face as seen in a photo taken by the media and has termed me as the brother of Yogish. The same photo has appeared in Youtube, Facebook and a web news portal,” he alleged.

Ganesh Kumar said he had nothing to do with the accused and added he was a Mogaveera while Yogish was a Billawa. He also said he had never seen Yogish so far.

Baikady Suprasad Shetty, Santosh Kumar Shetty, Sunil, Bhajrangdal leaders were present.
