Udupi, Feb 16, 2014: The office of the Udupi District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Urban Development Vinaykumar Sorake was attacked on February 15, Saturday allegedly by a group of Hindu activists. According to sources, as many as five persons reportedly affiliated to the Bhajrangdal smashed the nameplate of Sorake at the office and then stamped it.
Sources said even the shutters were pulled out and the assailants were heard shouting in foul language against the minister.
Prashanth Kumar, an employee in the Minister’s office has lodged a complaint with the police.
Four of the accused have been identified as Prajwal, Sujith Kondari, Santosh Kondari and Prasad Kondari. The attack followed a protest staged earlier by the Bhajrangdal earlier at Brahmavar demanding the release of Dinesh Mendon, President of Goraksha Dal.
Hiriadka police are investigating the case.
