Udupi, Jan 18, 2017 : The road to digital India begins not from Delhi but from the state capital Bengaluru, said Srivatsa Krishna, Secretary to Government of Karnataka and Chairman,Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC).
He was delivering the 34th TA Pai Memorial Lecture on the topic "The Road to Digital India : Begins from Bengaluru" on the occasion of the Founder’s Day of T A Pai Management Institute and Academy of General Education, Manipal at the Syndicate Bank Golden Jubilee Auditorium, Manipal on January 17, Tuesday.
Continuing, he said Bengaluru will surpass Andhra Pradesh and other states in the IT field and will also surpass the Silicon Valley in America in the future.
Bengaluru will be the second largest IT cluster in the world by 2020 and would contribute to 20 lakh direct jobs, 60 lack indirect jobs and export business worth Rs 4 lakh crores, he added.
He also informed that an India Media Entertainment City and Science Gallery will come up at Bengaluru on a 25 acre land.
Dr H S Ballal, TAPMI Management Board Member, Dr Gururaj Kidiyoor, Director, P D Shenoy, former IAS officer and others were present .
