Belthangady: Young housewife found dead; suspicion on husband

Belthangady, Dec 18, 2019: A young housewife was found dead in the toilet of her house at Kaje in Gerukatte on Belthangady taluk on December 17, Tuesday morning. As the body had many marks of injuries, it is suspected that she might have been murdered by her very own husband.

The deceased has been identified as Tasleema (25) from Salmara in Puttur. Reportedly, she was the third wife of Umar Farooq and was the mother of a four year old girl child and a four month old baby boy.

Sources said the accused Umar Farooq was a drug addict and was a rowdy sheeter wanted in at least seven cases in Belthangady, Venoor and Chikkamagalur police station limits. He was released on bail in connection with a case just a few days ago.

Belthangady police are investigating the case.
