Kudremukh

The fire was noticed on Sunday evening near the Kudremukh peak and has spread to a place called Tolali Elusuttu in Navoor village. With many plants dried up due to scorching heat and the strong winds has led to the spread of fire and has also made it difficult to control.

The fire is around 10 km away from Navoor main road and the forest personnel have to walk by foot. No mobile network is available here and lack of access to water here too has proved stumbling block.

On Sunday evening Kudremukh Wildlife Division’s Deputy Conservator of Forest Shivaram Babu visited the place and took stock of the situation.
