Belthangady, Sept 18, 2016: Prithvish K, a final year Electronics student of SDM Engineering College of Ujire is a gifted talent who aims to set a Guinness Record in Rubik’s Cube by creating two different pictures on different sides using 4000 cubes.
Prithvish who is already making all arrangements for the show will be exhibiting his talent before the Guinness Book of World Record officials at the Indraprastha Auditorium at Ujire on October 2.
At present there is a record of creating a picture on one side using 85,000 Rubik’s cubes, but no one has so far taken up the challenge of creating pictures on both sides.
Speaking to reporters here, College Principal Dr Suresh said Prithvish has already trained a record 500 people in the art. A total of 20 students led by Prithvish will embark upon the Guinness World Record feat which will also be videographed.
The event will cost Rs 4 lakhs, he said adding Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala has donated Rs 3 lakhs while the rest will be borne with the help of donations from students.
Prithvish who also spoke said only 38 seconds were enough for him to solve the Rubik’s Cube.
Son of Shyam Prasad and Prasanna Couple of Pethri in Brahmavar, he had studied upto PUC at BGS institution in Mangaluru.
On Saturday he created a Rubik’s Cube art of Dr Veerendra Heggade by joining 616 cubes.
