Mangalore Today News Network

Belthangady, June 03, 2019:  A crocodile which was spotted inside an abandoned well at Dondole near Dharmasthala on June 2, Sunday was rescued by the personnel of Pilikula Nisargadhama of Mangaluru on June 3, Monday. The crocodile was later released in a steam at Charmadi.

Crocodile.

The well located on the edge of a forest area belonged to a local resident. The five and a half foot long crocodile might have possibly entered the dry well which is 15 feet deep, in search of food.

On gathering information, forest officials had arrived at the spot and had provided food to the crocodile which used to turn violent on seeing a large number of people. As the crocodile was found to be healthy by the Pilikula officials it was released in the stream. Had it been injured, then it would have been shifted to Pilikula.
