Beach cleaning drive at Someshwara beach on National Pollution Prevention Day

Mangaluru, Dec 19, 2023: A beach cleaning drive was conducted by NSS unit of NUCSER on the occasion of National Pollution Prevention Day on December 2nd 2023. Aligned to the SDG14 goals and theme for the year “Sustainable Development for a Clean and Healthy Planet”, to conserve marine life and help reduce plastic usage due to human activities along the coast, we observed the National Pollution Prevention Day 2023.

NUCSER

Volunteers and staff from NUCSER joined hands with the local panchayat at Someshwara beach with a cause to save our beaches from pollution. The program was successful as the staff and students of NUCSER joined to clean the beaches and remove plastic thrown on the beaches. The Director of NUCSER, Prof Dr Anirban Chakraborty spearheaded the cleanliness drive. The NSS program officer of NUCSER Dr Rama Adiga coordinated and participated in the swachhta drive.
