Bava’s Birthday gift to students: MLA finds novel way to publicise achievements

Mangaluru, June 09, 2017 : Mangaluru North MLA  BA Mohiuddin Bava is in the news for wrong reasons. In what could be best described as self-glorification in the guise of social service, the MLA has distributed free books to students of several schools in his constituency.

 

However, the crux of the matter lies in the fact that these free books are nothing sort of self-glorification. On the cover of the note book is a smiling photo of the MLA. On top is written " Sun rises everywhere whereas crop is grown only  where hard work is done." Below is written "Our beloved MLA’s birthday gift"

A few  pages inside the note books are dedicated to  the photographs of the so called social service activities of the MLA and above is written "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way." The last page of the note books has an advertisement of the Prestige Group owned by JD(S) leader and brother of Bava, B M Farooq.

Sources said some teachers have  instructed the students not to bind the books as it would conceal the MLA’s photo.  Opposition BJP men are now questioning why the MLA has all of a sudden been so kind enough to distribute free books to students this year.  This is nothing but an idea of the MLA to publicise his achievements to the masses of his constituency through  the children, claim a few BJP leaders.

 In another development, banners have appeared in several areas  of the constituency in the name of the headmasters and teachers of some schools thanking the MLA for distributing free books, If sources are to be believed, the banners were put up by the MLA himself by spending from his own pockets.
