Barke Police arrest two chain snatchers in Mangaluru

Mangaluru , Feb 15, 2017 : Barke police have been successful in arresting two persons in connection with chain snatching case in the city on February 15, Wednesday.

The accused arrested are Niyaz (26), a resident of Ullal and Shameer (36) a resident of Thokkottu. A pair of Mangalsutras weighing 12 gram each, a bike bearing registration KA19 Y 1859, four mobile phones ,total of Rs 1.1 lakh were recovered from them .

On credible information Barke police special squad swung into action found Niyaz and Shameer roaming around suspiciously. On questioning them they were not able to give satisfactory answers, both were taken to custody. During interrogation they revealed the facts about the thefts .

The police team was led by ACP Uday Nayak along with Barke police inspector Rajesh A K, Crime department PSI Narendra, PSI Railway Security squad Bharat Raj, ASI Prakash K, Ganesh, Rajesh Attavar, Kishor Kotian, Jayaram, Sunil Kumar, Devarajan, Kishore Kumar, Nagaraj and Mahesh Patil .

Investigations are underway.
