Bantwal, Jun 11, 2015: A man, who was considered one of the most wanted, has been taken into custody by the Bantwal police.
The accused Balasubramaniyam was involved in 28 theft cases reported in various parts of Karnataka. He was arrested from Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu.
Balasubraniyam has various criminal records in police stations, as many as seven theft cases in Bantwal rural police station, five cases in Bantwal town and Vittal police station and two cases in Bajpe, Badiadka and Uppinangadi police stations, one in Udupi and three cases in Puttur Rural police station.
In the year 2012, he was arrested by Bantwal circle inspector and was seized with gold worth Rs 24 Lac. But he soon got bail and evaded.
The police acting on the information that he was at Tirunelveli, went there and arrested him.
He has been remanded to judicial custody after he was produced before the magistrate.
