Bantwal: Youth commits suicide over ’failed’ love affair

Bantwal, Oct 20, 2023: Apparently upset over a failed relationship, a 24-year-old man allegedly committed suicide near Kamaje under Bantwal city police station limits, police said.

Sachin, an electrician, was found hanging in a tree at Mittakodi in B Mooda village in Bantwal Taluk.

Vishal had previously worked as an electrician at Levin Electricals in Bantwal. On October 18, he failed to return home, prompting his family to initiate a search for him.

Following an extensive search, Sachin’s scooter was found parked near a ground in Mittakodi, B Mooda village, at around 3 am on October 19. Regrettably, Sachin himself was not in the vicinity of the scooter. Concerned family members attempted to reach him on his mobile phone, and they could hear the ringtone nearby. Upon closer inspection, they discovered Sachin’s lifeless body hanging from a tree.

A death note was found in the pocket of Sachin’s pant, wherein he expressed his profound distress over a failed romantic relationship as the driving force behind his extreme decision.

City police station inspector Ananta Padmanabha and SI Ramakrishna visited the spot and a case was registered.
