Bantwal: Thieves target businessman’s house; rob gold, cash

Bantwal, Oct 12, 2014: Thieves who broke into the house of a businessman at Bolangady near Melkar during the wee hours of October 12, Sunday have decamped with nearly five sovereigns of gold apart from a cash of Rs 8000.

The theft occurred in the house of Azeez, owner of PBA Earth Movers. Azeez was away on a morning walk when the burglars broke into his house through the back door.

 

There was no one else in the house as Azeez’s wife and children were at  his wife’s parental home  as her mother was ailing.

It has been gathered that the CCTV footages are also not available as the CC Camera had been switched off by Azeez on Saturday night when there was  lightning.

Inspector Belliappa, SI Nandakumar have visited the spot. A dog squad and finger print experts were also pressed into service.

Investigations are underway.
