Bantwal, Oct 20, 2016: The python which had recently attacked 11 year old Vaishakh at Sajipa village in the taluk, but had to beat a hasty retreat when the boy had tried to crush its face with a stone even as it curled over his body, has been caught by locals on the evening of October 19 and shifted to the Pilikula Nisargadhama at Vamanjoor in Mangaluru.
Meanwhile, a few locals namely Sattar, Balakrishna and Jagadish Kudur who were injured in their effort to trap the python have been admitted to a hospital.
It has been gathered that the python was first spotted by Jagadish, a relative of Vaishakh when he had been to attend a house warming ceremony on Wednesday evening. Though he tried to trap it using the mat in his autorickshaw, it was a futile exercise and the python hit him with its hood. Later Balakrishna and Sattar who were passing that way too joined and caught hold of the python.
