Bantwal, Feb 19, 2016: A massive fire which broke out in B Mooda, Kolnadu, Kavala Mudoor and Pilathabettu has engulfed vast tracts of rubber, coconut plantations and other trees spread over hundreds of acres of land on February 18, Thursday. It is learnt, the fire was first noticed in the buses and shrubs near Goodinabali and Chikkayyana Mutt.
Radhakrishna Rao’s plantation in Ratnagiri and Joachim’s plantation near Moorje have been gutted in the fire, several other farmers too have lost their crops.
Fire tender vehicles from Puttur, Bantwal and Belthangady had rushed to the spot to put out the raging flames.
It is learnt, fire was also noticed near Balakada Gudde and Kolnadu in the vicinity, However, the plantations were reduced to ashes by the time the fire tender vehicles had arrived.
Even the Bantwal and Punjalakatte police rushed to the spot to oversee the operations.
Ambulance and Fire tender vehicles are emergency vehicles. They are used for unexpected accidents caused at any time. They serve selflessly. These vehicles have to be arrange in every locality covering certain distance is important.
A huge loss to the owners of the plantations.I agree with Mr.santhosh for your good suggestion but the government has to look forward to it.
The fire has spread to the vast area because of the delay in the fire service vehicle reaching to the spot. We cannot blame them. We have to blame the government. Instead of parking all the service vans in particular station . The fire service van has to parked in every location covering certain distance because it is unpredictable when we are prone to such danger.
