Bantwal, Sep 1, 2015: Police have launched a manhunt for the assailants who were responsible for the brutal murder of a youth and for grievously injuring two of his friends in a gang attack at Kanyana market area in Vittal on August 30, Sunday.
A police team led by Circle Inspector is camping in Kanyana to avert any possible untoward incident in retaliation to the killing.

If Asif (24) from Bayikatte near Paivalike lost his life in the attack, Hakim (20) and Riyaz (24) had sustained critical injuries. It is believed that the Nappate Rafiq gang was behind the gruesome attack. Police teams have been sent to Kerala to gather hints about the killers.

He was even arrested once for stealing a tipper in 2012. Even the injured youth were involved in several cases including sand mining, police said.
