Bantwal : Congress stages protest against Vijaya Bank merger

Mangalore Today News Network

Bantwal, Nov 16, 2018: The government has plans to help the corporates by merging the  profit making Vijaya Bank with loss making banks, alleged former minister B Ramanatha Rai.

He was  addressing  a protest held on behalf of the Bantwal and Panemangalore Block Congress Committees  in front of the BC Road branch of the Vijaya Bank to oppose the merger.

Rai said the move is made at the behest of the Prime Minister and there is a ploy to wipe out the name of a bank which is the pride of Dakshina Kannada.

He was also highly critical of the alleged statement of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel that the merger proposal  was signed during the prime ministership of Manmohan Singh.

Bantwal Block Congress President Baby Kunder, Panemangalore  unit Chief Sudeep Kumar Shetty, APMC Chief Padmanabha  Rai and several party leaders participated in the protest.
