Bantwal, Nov 17, 2016 : Vittal Police who acted on a tip off have seized as many as 9 buffaloes and 7 bullocks which were crammed in a container truck at Salettur ready to be transported to Kerala on November 16, Wednesday night. Three persons have been arrested in this connection.
Those arrested are Fateeb (28), the driver of the vehicle, who hails from Kavali near Nanjangud, Rahiman from Kesur Kechchattalli in Hassan and Gopal Gowda from Koppalu Kallare Kataya.
It has been gathered that the cattle which were purchased from Hassan were being transported to butchery at Kasargod. The animals were found tied up in an inhuman manner inside the vehicle.
The value of the seized cattle is estimated at Rs 80,000 and that of the vehicle at Rs 4 lakhs.
