Bantwal, July 09, 2020:    A complaint has been lodged with the police alleging that an ASHA worker on duty was assaulted with a stick by a man at Haleppady Mundottu in Kudambettu village in Chennaithody Gram Panchayat limits of Bantwal taluk.

It has been alleged that the ASHA worker Mamatha Gatti was attacked by  a person named  Kanthappa Poojary of Majalu.  Mamatha works through the Community Health Centre at Vamadapadavu.

It is said the accused all of a sudden attacked Mamatha who was discharging her duty at around 10 am on Thursday.  Mamatha who has sustained injuries on her head and hand has been admitted to the hospital. Dr Umesh Adyanthaya, the medical officer of Vamadapadavu Health Centre has lodged a complaint with the Punjalakatte police.
