Bajrangdal activist among 2 arrested for cattle trafficking

Bantwal, July 27, 2018:  Vittla Police have on July 26, Thursday night arrested two persons including a Bajrangdal activist for  illegal transportation of cattle to a butchery in Kerala.

Those arrested are Shashikumar (48) of Vittlapadnur and Abdul Harris (21) of Kolnadu.  Shashikumar is said to be a  Bajrangdal man. The duo was arrested at Kadambu  in Vittlapadnur at around 11 pm.

The operation followed a tip off  that a vehicle with cattle was heading towards Kerala from Vittla. The police who intercepted the vehicle found the four cows and a calf crammed in an inhuman way.

The value of the cattle and the tempo is said to be around Rs 5 lakhs.
