Mangaluru: July 9, 2015: The Bajrang dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad will hold a massive protest against the illegal cattle trafficking and slaughtering on July 13 Monday at Nehru Maidan, said Vishwa Hindu Parishat president M B Puranik in a press meet on July 8.
Addressing to the media personals, Puranik said, the cattle are being taken to the slaughter houses just as Poultry, goats and other animals. The cows are stolen from huts and fields where they left to graze, not even ten percent of the cows are bought by paying money. The police have failed in taking action against the culprits he added.
He further said "When our activists try to stop these illegal activities, the police book against them under Goonda Act of IPC section 307. But the police take no action against the illegal cattle traffickers. In this regard, we will hold a massive protest on July 13 at Nehru Maidan, where the volunteers from Udupi, Dharmasthala, Talapady, Karkala and other places will participate"
More than 10000 people will take part in the protest he said".
Goraksha Committee Dr P Ananthakrishna Bhat said, "This will be the historic protest which will be organized in Mangaluru. We are protesting against Government, police department and cow traffickers. The government is supporting Milk producers with great schemes but on the other hand they are encouraging the illegal activities. This must be stopped", he said.
He requested all the people who lost their cows to participate in the protest.
Kateel Dinesh Pai, Sharan Pumpwell, Jagadish Shenava, Jithendra Kottari, Gopal Kuthar and Bhujang Kulal were present on the occassion.
