BJP stages protest seeking withdrawal of murder case against ANF cop

Udupi, April 28, 2014: A protest was organised  by the BJP here on April 28, Monday demanding the withdrawal of the  murder case filed against Naveen  Naik,  the ANF cop who shot dead  a cattle trader named Kabeer at Tanikodu check post near Shringeri after mistaking him for a Naxal.

Sunil Kumar, MLA of Karkala who addressed the protestors accused the ruling Congress of unduly appeasing the minorities. He said the BJP also wants withdrawal of the compensation announce to the family of Kabeer and stringent action against cattle traffickers.

Charging MLA Moidin Bava and Health Minister UT Khader of shielding cattle traffickers, he demanded that the two be booked.

Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, District BJP President, former MLA Lalaji Mendon, Ratnaker Hegde, Gopal Suvarna and other party leaders were present.

The BJP workers also took out a protest rally from BJP office to Chittaranjan Circle prior to the protest meet.
