Karkala, Sep 28, 2015 : The Union Government has done injustice to the people by sending  a draft directive for the implementation of the report  without considering the   report submitted by the cabinet sub-committee of the state government  to the Union Minister of Environment  and Forest three times, alleged former MLA Gopal Bhandary.

MLA Gopal Bhandary.

Speaking to reporters here after releasing a copy of the report sent to the Union Government by the state government at a press meet held at Hebri.  he charged the BJP of lying to the people that the state  government had not submitted the report.  He said the truth cannot be hidden for long and urged the BJP to refrain from misleading people.

The state government had in fact submitted the report after a thorough study and after taking into consideration the opinion  of all elected representatives as well as representatives of  various organisations, he informed.

The sub-committee had submitted reports on May 5, 2014, April 24, 2015 and September 2, 2015. Even a separate report  was submitted by Madan Gopal, Additional Chief Secretary of the State Forest and Ecology Department, he added.

He said if the Centre had genuine concern for the people then it has to consider the report submitted by the state in the interests of the people.

Bhandari also accused Udupi MLA Shobha Karandlaje of failing to keep up her words to the people with regard to Kasturirangan Report.

Neere Krishna Shetty, Hebri Block Congress Chief, Mudradi Manjunath Poojary, ZP member and others were present.
