Mangaluru, Oct 30, 2017: The BJP which has several MPs and MLAs facing criminal charges, has no moral right to demand the resignation of State Minister K J George, said DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai.
Speaking to reporters at the party office here on October 30, Monday, he said the BJP was wrong in blaming George and described this as a politically motivated act.
"The BJP is a party which is trying to shield an accused in the mining scam which is one of the biggest case of corruption in the history of the nation. The ruling dispensation at the Centre is also misusing the highest investigation agency. Sixty percent of forest land encroachment in the state had happened in Ballari," he said adding the scenario at Ballary has now changed completely following a check on illegal mining.
Rai also was critical of the GST regime of the Centre and alleged that the BJP had created an emergency like situation in the nation.
DCC Chief Harish Kumar, KPCC Secretary P V Mohan, District Mahila Congress President Shalet Pinto, former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde, ZP member Mamatha Gatti, Corporators Pratibha Kulai, Appi and others were present .
