Auto rickshaw drivers’ and owners’ union demand public apology from Minister Jain

Mangalore, Jan 1, 2014: The DK district auto rickshaw drivers’ and owners’ union in association with Mulky auto drivers’ and owners’ union and other like-minded associations staged protest in front of the DC office on Jan 1, Wednesday demanding public apology by minister for youth affairs Abhaychandra Jain for the Mulky assault incident.

Addressing the protestors, DK district auto drivers’ and owners’ union president Vishnumurthy said that Jain being in a responsible position, he must have shown patience rather than attempting to assault an auto driver in Mulky. The minister must be removed from the post for his rude behavior towards a common public.

He also urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to remove Jain from the cabinet immediately or else he must declare in public that he do not want any votes from auto drivers and owners. The auto drivers and owners are already facing lot of problem due to hike in LPG price; in such case, government must consider this problem seriously and try to revise the price rather than assaulting the protestors.

He also demanded public apology from Minister Abhaychandra Jain or else would continue their protest.
