Mangaluru, Oct 5, 2017 : With the audio clipping of the speech of a Muslim outfit leader warning of the presence of a radical group in BC Road, Kalladka, Ullal and other places going viral, the leader- South Karnataka Salafi Movement’s State Vice President Ismail Shafi, has now come in the open to claim that it was his voice in the audio.
The speech in Beary language had mentioned about a radical group trying to lure youth and also that it was mainly targeting educated youth of the community. He had even pointed out that the group’s attire was similar to the one worn by ISIS militants.
District Superintendent of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy said the Police Department has taken note of the audio clip and will decide if any action need to be initiated.
Mangaluru Police City Police Commissioner T R Suresh said the speech which is in Beary language is being translated and that the police will always be alert over the possibility of any radical group being active in the district.
