Mangaluru, Mar 7, 2017: reports reveal that the third Additional District and Sessions Judge S.H. Pushpanjalidevi on March , Monday sentenced Imtiyaz (31), a resident of Ullal, to 20 years imprisonment on finding him guilty of attempting to murder and assaulting two persons near the Syed Madani Dargah in Ullal in 2013.
The case relates to a clash between two groups over prayers offered at the new Mohiuddin Juma Masjid in Melangadi near the dargah on October 18, 2013. Imtiyaz and nine others were arrested for stabbing two persons near the masjid.
The judge convicted Imtiyaz of offences under Section 307 (attempt of murder) and 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) of the Indian Penal Code.
The judge sentenced him to undergo 10 years imprisonment and asked him to pay Rs. 5,000 fine for each of the two offences. The sentences will run consecutively, the judge said. She acquitted the other eight accused in the case.

well the judgement has to be fast and not prolonged for long . usually in our country the people take everything for granted because they do not get the proper punishment for their crime. | |
