Mangaluru, Jan 11, 2021: "The Atma Nirbhar Scheme is conducive for the economic development of the nation. The Co-operative institutions on their part play a pivotal role in bringing major changes in the agricultural and manufacturing sector. India will emerge as an economic power in the next five years," said Reserve Bank of India Director Satish Kashinath Marathe.
He was delivering a talk on "Atma Nirbhar Bharath through Co-operation" at the Vishwakarma Bank Auditorium at Carstreet on January 11, Monday as part of Sahakara Bharathi Foundation Day.
Continuing, Marathe said in foreign nations co-operative societies are also involved in water, power supply, health and services sector. He further stressed the need for the further strengthening of co-operative banks in the nation and suggested that all state governments prepare a vision document for the overall development of the co-operative sector.
Sahakara Bharathi State President S R Satishchandra presided over the function. Deputy Registrar of DK Co-operative Societies Praveen B Nayak, Senior CA Prasanna Shenoy, Sahakara Bharathi District President Chitaranjan Bolar, State unit Secretary Harish Achar, District unit General Secretary Ganesh Shenoy Maroli and others were present.
