Mangaluru, Dec 31, 2014: The state government finally announced the appointment of a commissioner for Mangalore City Corporation, a post that was lying vacant for more than six months.
27-year-old IAS officer Hephsiba Rani Korlapati will take charge as commissioner of MCC on January 1, 2015. Hephsiba hails from Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh. She was serving as the assistant commissioner, Sub Division of Basava Kalyana in Bidar district. She is an IAS officer of the 2011 batch.
Hephsiba secured the 20th rank in IAS. Hephsiba did her BA from Osmania University, Hyderabad and MA in Geography from Delhi School of Economics.
The appointment of the new commissioner will bring a relief to the ruling party and hope that the development works will get a boost with the able administration of Ms. Hephsiba Koralapati.
