Mangaluru, April 6, 2017 : Assistant sub-inspector of Urwa police station Aithappa who was attacked by unknown miscreants while he was on duty near the Ladyhill Circle during the wee hours of April 5, Wednesday morning and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city, is said to be out of danger.
It is said the bike borne masked assailants were following the SI who was on his bike and were not wearing helmets. It is learnt the assailants who were two in number had attacked the ASI with an iron rod saying ’Adila.’
Three police teams have been formed to nab the attackers. Meanwhile, some sources said the attack on the SI was in retaliation to the lathi charge on the protesting PFI activists in front of the Police Commissioner’s Office on April 4, Tuesday.
