Mangaluru May 30, 2016: J Arun Chakravarthy took charge as IGP Western Range on Monday May 30. Chakravarthy who was earlier serving as IGP of Central Range Bengaluru took charge in the presence of Police Commissioner M Chandrashekar.
Addressing the Press after taking charge, Chakravarthy said he considers his new role as IGP Western Range as a very challenging one. He said he will have to assess the place as well as the situation here before drawing out a plan of action.
J Arun Chakravarthy is a MA (Topper) in Sociology at Jnana Bharathi University. He worked as a Customs Officer in 1990 and in 1995 was selected for the Indian Police Service. He has also served as ASP in Shivamogga, SP In Raichur and Chitradurga for three years and later was deputed to UNO for peace keeping operations in Eastern Europe (former Yugoslavia).
