Armed robbers escape with 82 sovereigns of gold, cash from house near Bajpe

Mangaluru, oct 4, 2016 : In a shocking case, a gang of armed robbers who barged into a house at Gidikere have escaped with 82 sovereigns of gold and a cash of Rs 50,000 after threatening the occupants of the house during the wee hours of October 4, Tuesday morning. The house belonged to Vasudev Asranna, one of the members of the priests’ family of the Kateel Durga Parameshwari Temple.

The thieves had arrived by a vehicle and reportedly threatened the four family members including a woman.

TV Nagaraj, Inspector in Bajpe police station has rushed to the spot. Finger print experts and dog squad has been pressed into service.
