Annular solar eclipse: Hundreds watch rare celestial spectacle in city

Mangaluru, Dec 26, 2019:  Annular solar eclipse, the celestial spectacle is being watched with awe and amaze by a host of enthusiasts including students at various places including Mangaluru with the help of optical solar filter glasses. The annular solar eclipse visibility was 93% in Mangaluru on December 26, Thursday.

 

 

 

 

Special arrangements had been made at Padua College in Mangaluru as well as in some other places. to view  the solar eclipse. A large  number of students and members of the general public are having a great time watching the rare celestial spectacle wearing solar filter glasses.

In view of solar eclipse most temples in and around Mangaluru have  suspended pooja rituals which are likely to commence in the evening. In Kadri temple, bhajans, Vishnu Sahasranama, Ganapatha Stotra was recited.   Muslims also offered  namaz in most mosques in the district this morning in view of the eclipse.
