Mangaluru, Jan 03, 2019: The Annual Feast of the Infant Jesus Shrine at Bikarnakatta here will be held on January 14 to 15.
Informing this to reporters here on January 3, Thursday, Rev Fr Wilfred Rodrigues, Superior of the shrine said the Holy Mass to be held as part of the Feast on January 14 at 6 pm will be led by former Bishop Rev Aloysius Paul D’Souza. Over 100 priests, 500 nuns and over 15,000 faithful will take part in the celebrations, he said.
Mass in Konkani language will be held at 6 am, 9 am and 11.45 am on January 14 while a special mass for the sick will be held at 10.15 am. The Mass in Kannada will be at 12.45 noon.
The Holly Mass on January 15 will be held at 10.30 am and will be led by Mangaluru Bishop Rev Dr Peter Paul D’Souza. Holy Mass in Konkani will be held at 6.30 am, 7.30 am and 9 am while Mass in Kannada will be held at 21 noon.
The Holy Eucharistic Procession will be held in the evening.
Prior to the Feast, a nine-day Novena will be held from January 5 to 13. A Hore Kanike procession will be organised on January 4 at 5 pm.
Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese Fr Maxim Noronha, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Mayor Bhasker Moily and local Corporator Sabitha Misquith will participate in the celebrations.
Blood donation camp : A blood donation camp to be held on January 10 will be inaugurated by Fr Richard Coelho, Director of the Fr Muller Hospital.
Fr Prakash D’Cunha, Director of the Shrine, Fr Ligory Crasta, Assistant Parish Priest and others were present.
