Udupi, Nov 20, 2016: As per an official announcement, Udupi Catholic Diocese will organise the Annual Eucharistic procession at the Church Grounds here on Sunday.The event will begin at 4.30 p.m. with a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration which will be followed by the Eucharistic procession in the city.
The procession will start from the church premises and pass through Ajjarkad Park Road – Jodu Katte, Old Taluk Office Road, Court Road, Diana Circle and finally culminate at the church premises.It will culminate with the consecration and final Blessing. A unique float, band, huge umbrellas would add colour to the celebration.November 20 also marks the Feast of Christ the King, celebrated in the churches all over the world.
Solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by the Bishop of Udupi Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo and more than 50 priests will be concelebrating with him. The Eucharistic celebration would be followed by the Eucharistic procession through the city of udupi. We expect around 3000 people to gather for the celebration.
The procession is an display of faith in Lord Jesus present in the Holy Eucharist, to renew our devotion towards the sacrament of Holy Eucharist, to rededicate and recommit ourselves to the exhortation and example that the Christ gave when he was in this world, to express the solidarity and brotherhood of all the Catholic faithful and to seek blessings of God on all the people living in the City so that we promote peace and harmony.
