Andria wins first Place in State Level Chess Championship

Mangaluru, Dec 05, 2018: Andria L. D’Souza, III B.Sc student of St Aloysius College, Mangaluru won First Place in the Karnataka State Women’s Chess Championship organised by Mysore Chess Centre in association with United Karnataka Chess Association and Rotary Club of Mysore East held recently at Ursu Gymkhana Club, Mysuru.

Andria L. D’souza, the second-seed in the Tournament, won the Karnataka State Women’s Chess title by securing six points from seven rounds. Andria shocked the top-seed Isha Sharma in the sixth round to emerge as the sole leader. WCM Isha Sharma with 5.5 points (31.5) finished second, while Sangana Raghunath of Bengaluru with 5.5 points (29.5) secured the third place. Mahima Sheringar of Udupi finished fourth with 5 points in the Tournament.
