Mangaluru, Mar 16,2017: It is announced that to battle the imminent water scarcity in Mangaluru city, MLA JR Lobo has directed the concerned authorities to drill around 33 borewells in the city. The decision was made in a meeting of Water Task force held at MLA’s office located in Kadri of the city.
At the meeting the MLA stressed that water level at Thumbe vented dam has fallen to 4.3 meter and the water level is very likely to come down within days. Borewells are the need of the hour, he also asked the officials to utilize the water from open wells, borewells of the city as a substitute to the water from Thumbe vented dam. All these works should be carried out immediately to prevent adverse impact of water scarcity in the city amid hot summer. For the present borewells can supply water in the city whereas 85 borewells have remained useless in Mangaluru city area limits. efforts are also on to regenarate, clean and use wells and so on.

This is not the right time to dig the borewells. Waht are the misnister doing all this time , this in no something new. |
