Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat concludes on a spectacular note

Mangalore, Dec 23, 2013: Eminent achievers who have made a mark in their respective fields were felicitated at the valedictory ceremony of the four-day Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat 2013 at Vidyagiri in Moodbidri on December 22, Sunday.

 

 

 

 

Those felicitated  on the occasion included,  noted poet Jayanth Kaikini, eminent writers Dr. Na. Mogasale, Fakir Mohammad Katapady, Dr Kamala Hampana, Dr HS Venkateshamurthy,  Yakshagana artiste Kumble Sunder Rao, Dr DK Chowta, Moodankoodu Chennaswamy, Uma Kulakarni, Dr Hannibal Cabral from Karnataka Theological Society  and HS Nagabhushan from Shimoga Kannada Sangha.

Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Foundation was also honoured for the stupendous efforts put in to organise the event.

Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala who presided over the function lauded Dr Mohan Alva for arranging the four-day event in the most disciplined fashion with the dedicated involvement of thousands of volunteers.

Dr M Veerappa Moily, Union Minister for Petroleum, Natural Gas, Forest and Environment said Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat has grabbed the attention of the whole world and has given recognition to Moodbidri. Commenting on criticisms from some corners against the event, he said criticisms make an individual strong.

Dhananjay Kumar compered the programme. A variety of cultural programmes including a live concert by the famed singer Raghu Dixit entertained the gathering on the final day of the event.
