Alva’s Education Foundation adopts Hosangadi

Moodbidri, March 27: Alva’s Education Foundation will adopt Hosangadi, recently declared to be Karnataka’s cleanest village.

Dr. Mohan Alva, the head of the foundation, announced at a special programme organized by the Hosangadi Friends’ Club that Alva’s Foundation will finance activities to maintain cleanliness in the village, make it plastic free and addiction free and so on. He also said that the foundation will provide financial support for the education of deserving candidates belonging to the backward communities in Hosangadi.

Deepak, a Std IV student of DKZP Higher Primary School of Badakodi; Manmatha, a Std VII student of DKZP Higher Primary School of Paddandadka; and Siraj Mansoor, a Std VII student of DKZP Higher Primary School of Perinje, were given the Shaala Nairmalya Ratna Award for collecting the highest amount of plastic waste within Hosangadi.

Hariprasad, the social activist responsible for the Madari Mane Susthithi Samudaya Yojane project, was also felicitated on the occasion.

Dr. L. H. Manjunath gave away certificates to deserving families identified to be part of this project.
