Kundapur ,June 20, 2015:  Police who are investigating into the case of suspicious death of Akshata Devadiga, a 17 year old student of Byndoor College, have arrested a 19-year-old youth. The accused has been identified as Sunil (19)from Yojana Nagar Byndoor.


Meanwhile, protests are continuing  by various organisations demanding justice in the case which is suspected to be a rape and murder case.

Here it is worth mentioning that the police have even failed in cracking the mystery behind the death of student named Ratna Kottary last year who too is suspected to have been murdered under similar circumstances.

 

Akshata, daughter of Radha and Babu Devadiga was pursuing II PUC education in science stream in Byndoor Government College and  went missing  while she walked towards home from college on June 17, Wednesday.

 

Sunil was arrested in Byndoor and will be produced before the Magistrate on June 20.
