Agonised over daughter-in-law’s death in road mishap, father-in-law ends life

Kasargod, Dec 27, 2013 : In a tragic incident reported from Kumble, a man who was deeply agonised over the death of his young daughter-in-law in a road mishap, ended his life by hanging himself on December 26, Thursday.

The deceased is Joseph alias Kunhiattan(65). He was found hanging to a tree near his house on Thursday morning. His daughter-in-law Sowmya (24) had met a tragic end on December 25, Wednesday evening, when the bike in which she was pillion riding along with her husband Shinobi was knocked down by a car from the rear. Sowmya who fell to the road sustained serious head injuries and died. Her husband however sustained minor injuries. The couple were on way to Sowmya’s parental home at Vellerikund when the mishap took place.

Joseph who was totally aghast over the untimely death of his daughter-in-law had reportedly told his close relatives that there was no use in him living. Going by his words, he ended his life the very next day.
