Mangaluru, May 29, 2020: A specific area in Mulur village of Gurupura was declared a containment zone by Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on May 28, Thursday after a 23 year old man from the area was tested positive for Covid-19.
The order by the DC states that all four borders of the containment area has empty land. A buffer zone of 5 km around the containment zone has been created and this buffer zone has Thekulipadi village in south boundary, Addoor in North boundary, Kandavara village in West and Gurupur river is its eastern boundary. There are 1,808 houses, 467 shops and offices in the buffer zone and the zone has a population of 5,445. The Assistant Engineer of Panchayat Raj Engineering Division of Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat is the incident commander and in-charge of the containment zone.
